Christmas Hot Chocolate
Treat yourself to the ultimate Christmas hot chocolate, infused with festive flavours such as vanilla and topped with cream or your favourite toppings.
Ingredients
- 4 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk(14oz)
- 350g chocolate (chips or finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Optional: 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Add all listed ingredients (milk, cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate, vanilla, salt) to medium pot or saucepan over medium -low heat.
- Bring the mixture to a very light simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is melted and the hot cocoa is smooth; the cocoa will thicken some as it simmers.
Serving idea
Topped with fresh whipped cream, sprinkled with cocoa powder, and chocolate shavings or give it a minty flavour by adding crushed After 8 chocolates on the cream. Marshmallows are
the best when melted on hot chocolate.
